The next stop was the abandoned quarry located in proximity to the Mereșeuca village. This is an excellent outcrop to see the almost entire succession of the Dzhurzhivka Member (Nagoryany Formation). An alternation between three beds characterizes it.
The lower part is represented by massive yellowish sandstones. The middle part consists of mudstones intercalated with siltstones. Their colour spectra have a wide range of colours. The upper part is characterized by greyish-yellowish sandstones.
At the top, the black argillites of the Kalyus Beds lie conformably on the sandstones of the Dzhurzhivka Beds.
