The Ediacaran from the Moldova-Podillya Basin (6th stop)

One of the hardest to find outcrops (for me at least) and, the only sediments from the Kanyliv Group that can be found on the territory of Moldova are located below the Naslavcea train station, on the left side of the Naslavcea river (Statia CFM Naslavcea on the map).

The lowermost part of the Kanyliv Group is represented by the Pylyly Member. It is characterized by greyish greenish sandstones with intercalations of siltstones. They interact with HCl.

The sandstones lie without any visible unconformities on the black argillites of the Kalyus Beds.

The sandstones of the Pylypy Member (Kanyliv Group).

An outcrop located 50m from the main one seems to have suffered tectonic processes.
